‘A Beautiful Revolution’ under scrutiny

ifilm critically examines recently aired series – final batch.

As the finale of ifilm series ‘A Beautiful Revolution’ was recently aired, we’ll be providing our audience with an analytic account of the events in the landmark events in the story, in a few parts.

In the previous articles, we talked of the symbolism depicted in the series, with ‘Beautiful’ representing the territory (Iran), and Able and Cane, the sons of Adam, respectively represented by Hamed and Jaber. Here’s more on the series.

The flight

Hamed (a flight trainer) says, ‘I’ll be securing you, as long as I breathe’, and Ziba responds, ‘Shall we jump out?’.

The last sequence in the series, shows Hamad and Ziba join in a paraglide flight; a must-see scene.

Looking back at published material, you find the screenwriter an effective person, who tries to fix the misunderstandings sowed by anti-revolution elements. Just shortly before the series was launched, Parviz Sabeti – a notorious security official of the former regime, had published his memoirs, in which he had tried to whitewash the cruelties of the corrupt regime. They tried to distribute the memoirs among people, free of charge, in order to overlook the corruption that was exemplar in the ex-regime.

Watching the beautiful revolution, you find it reminiscent of Sabeti’s memoirs, and that the series provides an effective analysis of the historical truth out there.
